Role Description This is a 30-40 hour a week on-site role for a Veterinary Assistant located in Phenix City, Alabama.
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will provide support to veterinarians and technicians in examining and treating animals.
Your responsibilities will include feeding and caring for animals, cleaning and disinfecting cages and treatment areas, restraining animals, administering medications, and assisting with medical and surgical procedures.
You will also help educate pet owners on animal care and provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License Experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary or animal care setting Knowledge of animal behavior and common health issues Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods of time Familiarity with veterinary terminology, medical records, and basic computer skills Able to work flexible hours including weekends.
Commitment to the welfare of animals, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Desired personality Characteristics:
